Temporary Need: 2/26/24 -- 12/01/24. Three (3) full-time, seasonal, temporary Vegetable Farm Laborer needed. Will work 40 hrs/week, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Wage is $16.34/hr. Location: Work will be performed in Woods Cross, Utah. Duties: Weeding, planting, harvest, irrigation, packing of produce. Must be able to endure hot days, cold days, rainy days, snowy days. Workers must be familiar with flood, drip and sprinkler irrigation on large farm scale. Also must be skilled at weeding and thinning crops. Workers must be able to harvest said crops and lift 70 lbs. Various tasks are performed thoughout the season such as planting, weeding, installing irrigation, harvest, and cleanup. Terms and conditions of employment: Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor and will be required to keep all property and farm buildings clean; workers must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; the employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. All tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no cost or deposit to the worker. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, a minimum of $15.46 per 24-hour travel period of the CONUS meal reimbursement rate $59.00 maximum when receipts are provided for travel within the United States. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued by DOL for the time period the work is performed.
