Where the chemistry happens…

Reporting ot the North America (NA) Global Engineering Manager for Key Accounts, this regional supporting role provides an opportunity to make a significant difference to the success of an organization. In this role, your responsibilities will include providing support to Account Management for managing the BASF organization and BASF OEM customers across North America..

You will be required to support the management of the day-to-day sales management with emphasis on technical projects to deliver and maintain profitable organic growth for BASF in North America. The role requires a moderate to advanced degree of technical, commercial, and business acumen necessitating working across multiple hierarchies both inside BASF and with our OEM customers Ford and Tesla. This role is based in our Southfield, MI headquarters where we are hybrid at least 3 days per week.

• This role will require to travel about 20% with some global travel. Also it requires to support customers across NA with some global engagements.

As a Regional Technical Project Manager, You Create Chemistry By...

  • Being the Key Contact for Customer Material Engineering, Color & Design and Product Development teams in North America

  • Leading Annual Color Program activities from design phase through implementation both internally and externally.

  • Leading technology approvals with customer to ensure cost targets and timelines are met.

  • Identifying key business risks, propose mitigation measures and opportunities to manage BASF risk related to current and future opportunities.

  • Managing and prioritizing lab projects (R&D and customization) with technical organization.

  • Working closely with operations to prioritize and execute efficiency projects.

  • Directing internal teams to meet customer deadlines / inform the global organization of customer requirement/strategy/align support for projects.

  • Supporting paint shop launches and troubleshooting projects internally and externally.

  • Supporting regional and global Key Account Management teams.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a technical field

  • Have at least 3+ years relevant account management expertise and technical knowledge (preferably top coat or e-coat)

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships

  • Communicate effectively across all internal functions

  • Have experience managing projects and meeting timelines

  • Recognize opportunities for efficiency improvement and drive actions to completion

  • Posses analytical skills with moderate long-term strategic thinking.
