Construction Services Estimator Needed @ TradeCon Industries
The Estimator will play a key role in our organization by providing accurate and competitive cost estimates, assisting in bid proposal development, and optimizing project budgets with the objective of winning new contracts and ensuring project profitability.
Role:
- Create and deliver precise and competitive cost estimates.
- Work together with Sales and Operations in preparing bid proposals.
- Optimize project budgets to secure contracts and ensure profitability.
- Strong management of the fundamentals with construction estimation background.
- Attention to details with a cost-efficient mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, and Finance departments
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- The ability to analyze, manage and find solutions to common difficulties that are part of the process.
- Ability and capacity to manage changes in requirements and adapt to the evolving construction industry
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations (a plus)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare precise cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop competitive bid proposals.
- Perform takeoffs and quantity surveys.
- Foster relationships to secure cost-effective pricing and resource availability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Organize, document, and maintain project records.
- Analyze actual project costs compared to estimates.
- Assist in budget development and management.
- Stay current with construction estimating software.
Qualifications:.
- Prior construction estimating experience.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Familiarity with construction methods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with local building codes (a plus).
